M.A.C Illustrated Makeup Bags, M.A.C by Request 2013 & Turquatic...

Here we have yet another collaboration for M.A.C this time with two award winning illustrators. The result, four makeup bags which can be nice options if you are a collector.

Two colorful bags by New York graffiti artist Indie 184 and two black and white line drawings by Anja Kroencke.

As you can see these two artists couldn't be more different. While Indie 184 clearly shows a modern tagging street style, Kroencke takes us back to a popular style of the late 70s. They are $43.00 each and are available now through M.A.C website.


M.A.C by Request 2013...

Every year M.A.C brings back loved products from the 1990s and 2000s based on votes. From July 8th to 23rd you can cast your own through their facebook page. Who knows, maby one of your favorites will be available in Spring 2014? Based on popularity, three lipsticks and three eyeshadows will be released again for a limited time.

Here's a bit of ignorance for you, I had no idea M.A.C had a fragrance(s)! They clearly don't promote it at their counters because I've never seen it but I must admit that sometimes it's kind of hard to find their latest collections as well so it may not be surprising. The largest M.A.C counter we have downtown is almost a maze. Now from what I've just read about Turquatic I am more than intrigued. Aquatic with a good dose of Amalfi lemon! My nose is itching at the moment just thinking about lemons!

Originally launched in 2011, M.A.C describes is as being a classic with notes of Anemone, Lotus, Oris and Corsican Blue Cedar. Considered as a unisex fragrance (now that scares me a little for I've never liked one qualified as such so far) I will still sample it since according to the reviews it leans more to the feminine side. Available in three sizes: 6 ml rollerball ($26.50), 25 ml ($36.00) and 50 ml ($59.50).

Travalo! I Had No Idea This Existed!

As I was reading my emails this morning, the television was on. I'm not sure, I may have seen the commercial once without paying attention but today I looked at it and realised, now this is a smart little invention!

Travalo makes portable, purse size atomizers. The nice thing about them is you don't run the risk of spilling your fragrance. In the past you needed to have a non atomizer bottle of your fragrance and use a tiny funnel to fill a travel size spray. With Travalo it's so simple, just look at how it's done:

The great thing is that all their purse size sprays are quite affordable and are available across Canada at Shoppers Drug Mart /Pharmaprix. Just click on the picture to visit their website.

As you know some companies do make refillable atomizers of perfume but not all and they can still be quite expensive. This is a pretty nice option.

Ecotools Tapered Blush / Review

Makeup brushes are something I've neglected for a while now and I'm in dire need of new ones. Since I can't go for high end ones at the moment I have to settle for more wallet friendly options.

Last year I purchased a blush brush from Quo at Pharmaprix (Shoppers Drug Mart). At half price, around $10.00, I figured it would do fine for a bit. I have a small review of it here. I really got sick of it.

After reading the many positive reviews about Ecotools' offerings I chose to get their Tapered Blush brush.

From the package: "Made from soft cruelty-free bristles, has a recycled aluminium ferrule and sleek bamboo handle."

At $8.99, this brush is an excellent affordable option.

Although the ferrule of the Ecotools brush is looser, it's bristles are much softer than Quo's and hopefully you can have an idea of the "fluffyness" from the picture. It also picks up more product for a nicer, more effective application of powder. I use it for both bronzer and blush.

Would I recommend this brush? Yes!

I know that tight budget or not, many just love Ecotools brushes. Next, I have to replace my concealer brush, they didn't have it where I purchased this blush brush but I'll be sure to pick it up next time I see it.
