Canadians on ice, ROCK!

Gold Women's Curling

Gold Men's Curling

Silver Team Figure Skating!

Oh and by the way... They came, they saw, they conquered!

Gold Women's Ice Hockey! Fourth straight Olympic gold, thank you very much!

Gold Men's Ice Hockey! Second strainght Olympic gold, thank you very much!

I just thought I'd mention it in case you didn't know! Hockey is totally Canada's game! :D

This weeks makeup love...

This week I had fun with my Clinique palette and used Bobbi Brown eye liner almost every morning. I'm not sure why but some days it stayed true better than others... hmmm. As you can see my Diorshow Velvet has been getting quite a bit of love lately but look at Guerlain Crazy Terracotta more precisely the middle portion and bottom curve!!!

But there's worse...

My Guerlain Crazy Météorites! Look at it! I mean really LOOK AT IT!!! Dents and bumps!!! What will I do when it's gone??? This is by far the best finishing powder there is on this here tiny planet! I'm crushed people! I thought it would last forever, truly I did because it's that good! Ok I know I still have enough to last me a while but this was a sad realisation for me this week. :(

New additions...

Not new per say but since I got a gift with purchase last week when I bought my Clinique Palette I'll be trying the makeup items and yes, I got a Chubby! Oh I did get an O.P.I nail polish and a new shower gel/oil from Le Petit Marseillais that I can't wait to try because it smells amazing!

What I have my eyes on...

Since I'll probably have a major expense this week there isn't much I'm considering except, again, a Clarins cleanser for Catherine and a Clinique Cheek Pop but I must admit that the more I see the Too Faced Chocolate Bar the more I'm tempted to take the jump and there's also a new Laura Mercier palette that I spotted at Sephora that is just dreamy... Oh gosh I don't even like big palettes!!!

For your viewing enjoyment...

Defending Olympic champions, Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue won silver in Ice Dancing and this is their performance for the team event where Canada also won silver.

Last word about the Olympics...

This time around I didn't get to watch as much as I did in the past but of the bits I got to see were great!

The last 5 minutes of the Ice Hockey game between Canada and the US men was totally nail biting! The gold medal game between Canada and Sweden I did get to watch this morning. I didn't think I would be able to but I guess it was a little easier with English commentators. You see, I always watched major games with André and he probably smiled today when my reactions were a little more demure. For hockey I was the crazy one! He used to say that I was his best hockey buddy!

This was my first time watching a game without him and it was ok. I didn't think I could do it but I did!

On a gagné mon'Amour!

Hashtags? Yep I went there! :D

Have a great week everyone! Hélène xoxo

Put them back in their pouch and put my name on them! :D
Hey Helene, yaay congrats! So many Canadian peeps were on Twitter so early today. It was amazing to behold (I've stayed up late to watch sports, but getting up early is a whole different ball game)! Really glad you won!

Waaait your Crazy Meteorites will last another while, right? I have never even come close to hitting pan on anything so I wouldn't know! I'd be pretty crushed, too! It's still my fav!

Yay thanks Sunny! I recorded the game and watched when I woke at 7:30. I had to warn Catherine not to tell me the results! :)

I know Crazy Météorites isn't near pan but I love it so much I just hope Guerlain releases it in it's regular line! I use it every morning and can't imagine finishing my makeup without it! :)
I didn't watch the Olympics, but I'm glad that Canada has done so well!

Thanks Gio! I didn't get to watch much (all recordings mainly) but what I did get to see I enjoyed a lot! :)
But! you weren't watching the game this morning alone.....I was watching it with you!!!!!!!!!!!! and cheering loud enough I'm surprised my neighbour did call the by-law! hahaha I had that Guerlain Crazy Météorites in my hand today at Shopper's Drug Mart.....but put it back....it kept coming off very pink toned - almost lilac on my finger, so I didn't pull the trigger......mistake??? I'm afraid to go to Sephora because I know I will be so tempted by that Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette......Hockey is definitely Canada's game....but we never doubted that did we?!xo

Hey Linda I think even the non hockey fans were watching the game since even if you don't know the rules you know where the puck is suppose to go! It's soooo our game! :)

If you have doubts about Crazy Météorites than pass but you could bring one of your brushes next time and try it on your forehead since you may have swatched a little more on the purple patches. Then try to walk around and look in a mirror under different lighting. Outside is the best. Since it's so expensive you really have to be sure about it.

I didn't go to Sephora today afraid I would splurge on TF Chocolate bar! :D

I woke up early this morning to watch the hockey game, it was absolutely incredible, I'm so sad the Olympics are over. That Guerlain finishing powder sounds lovely!

LOL Natalie I know a lot of people are glad it's over too so they can get their regular tv programing! :) I really enjoyed the game and had warned Catherine not to spoil it for me since I was watching the recording (I started watching at 7:30am). I'm glad she didn't! The Guerlain is truly a pleasure to use and I love the finish. :)

Yay thanks Lily!

I had been eyeing Black Honey for a while now and almost purchased it a few weeks back, so glad it's part of this palette. I was wearing it today and love it! I think I'll be wearing it a lot too. :)

I can't comment on hockey because I know nothing about it but I had a Canadian room mate for years and I know how important it is for you guys so congrats!

Which Diorshow Mono are you spotting there? It looks like my kinda color! lol.

Oh Sara you have no idea! I'm not a hockey fanatic in any way but when there are big games I really love it for that's when the players behave and give a great performance just like they did here.

That's Diorshow Velvet and it would be gorgeous on your eyes! I use it a lot with a neutral base for an easy every day kinda look and I love it with Chanel Illusion d'Ombre in both Fatal and Diapason. :)

Helene, do you like the Guerlain Meteorites finishing powder better than Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder? I need a good finishing powder and have heard great things about both, but both are very pricey so I don't want to make a mistake, lol. PS Congrats on all the Olympic wins! And I liked the Canadian uniforms just about the best of any!

I do like it better. As you know I have the Ambient Lighting Palette which is great but some days I find the finish too shimmery. Guerlain is much more subtle and blurs the pores better for me and the shimmer is so subtle. It's probably the most finely milled powder out there and it lasts a good 5 hours on me at this time of year. I don't know how it'll be next summer though. I have combination skin and at the moment my t-zone is behavin! I wouldn't carry the Hourglass compact like I would Guerlain and it has nothing to do with the size of the palette.

Thanks about the win! Sorry the US had to be elliminated by us and didn't play for gold. That would have been epic!

You're right, Team Canada's clothes were gorgeous, loved them too! :)

Ahhhh sweetie I'm sure by the time you finish the Guerlain Météorites there will be another stunning powder coming your way!

LOL Peggy, I'm sure there will be but I'll be so sad when it's gone and the texture of the powder is so amazing! :)
