Laura Mercier Caviar Stick...

I finally took the plunge and purchased my first Laura Mercier Caviar Stick last week! After months of hesitation I caved in when I saw that Sephora had finally received a new shipment.

These have been reviewed left and right so I won't bore you with a long review, just my thoughts guys, just my thoughts... :)

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Khaki...

Green on green is not the best combination to make my eyes stand out but it's a great option for every day when worn with a good liner and mascara. In fact, for me, it goes with everything.

The texture...

From the stick it goes on dark but it's very easy to blend with either a finger or a brush. I've actually been contemplating getting a pack of sponge applicators because the more I think of it, the more I believe these would make a more precise application easier. I'll get back to you on that.

How does Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Khaki perform? Very well thank you!

Not as tenacious as other cream formulas I've enjoyed recently but it lasted a good 9 hours over NARS Pro-Prime before it started to crease a little. I'm not sure if I will get such performance during summer when my lids can get a little oily but at the moment I'm pretty pleased. Unless you have dry lids, I definitely recommend you apply this over a primer.

Ok I know my swatches are not yet what they should be but bare with me! The lighting these days is horrible and it's so cold out that I don't want to freeze my arm in order to take pictures.

On its own it pulls a bit golden brown on my skin. On the left, right from the stick, middle is blended
and right is blended with a little Nocturne which makes it slightly more khaki.

For a good basic day look I've paired it with Diorshow Nocturne and they go together like fries and mayo!

Ok I know, I'm sure some of you think it should have been fries and ketchup but hey, I'm in the mayonnaise clan. If you haven't yet, try it! Decadently delicious and if you're lucky enough to have homemade and spicy, even better! :)

Now I have my eyes on Amethyst and Sanglow!

Have you tried Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks?

For your French Fries what are you, Ketchup or Mayonnaise?

Hey Helene, YESS I'm so glad you got this! It's the perfect season to overuse and abuse this one! I have Sandglow, and I might get Amethyst next, too. If you want it to last even longer, try patting some pressed shadow on top!

I'm team mayonnaise, too! But I have to be specific: it has to be European/Belgian mayo. The American stuff is just too... sweet? Here they put some lemon juice and sometimes even Dijon mustard in the mayo to give it a bit of a kick. I actually had some for lunch with my vol-au-vent ;)

I'm glad to finally have one! So easy so use and you're right, perfect for this time of year. I hesitated a lot between Khaki and Sanglow so that one will probably be next!

Now Sunny you're a girl after my own heart!!! I rarely buy the ready made mayo and make mine with either lemon juice or cider vinegar and yes, there's Dijon in it! As a true team mayo member I always have a jar in the fridge. :)

Oh wow you make your own! Technically speaking I know how, because a friend's grandpa showed us once (he has been making his own mayo ALL his life). But I don't really eat fries that often, and I never think about putting mayo on anything else! Great to hear that you also eat the "real thing." In Taiwan we pretty much only get the overly sweet American mayo, so I never ever ate it till I came here.

Oh Sunny a tomato sandwich without homemade mayo is NOT a tomato sandwich! :) Actually it takes me less then 5 min to make. I put all the ings in a mason jar and use a plunger mixer. A few "zing zing" and done! :)
Great post! I have 2 of these. They perform pretty well- I typically use my shadow sticks without a primer on my oily lids and they stay for hours! Keep warm:)

Oh good for you! I guess it's not only a matter of oil production but could also be chemistry. My lids are pretty much on the normal side and I just know these wouldn't last as long.

Trying to keep warm. Hopefully this week will be our last bout of frigid temps. :)
I own two of these: Amethyst and Gold. I don't know why I haven't reviewed them myself. I like them, but for some reason, I don't wear them all that much. As a matter of fact, I just left today on a 2 week biz trip and I took them out of my makeup bag, lol. When I get home, I'm going to revisit the Amethyst! PS You're making me hungry. I would love some fries and mayo or ketchup, either one, I don't care lol!

LOL Allison that's what happens when we have too much makeup!

I know both mayo or ketchup are good, I just like fries period and would love to be able to eat them more often. :)
I really love Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks and I think you should definitely try Amethyst, the best shade in my opinion. These stay almost like iron on me, I guess it's because my lids have become a bit drier lately.

As for fries, I like both and usually mix them ketchup and mayonaisse... and I also like poutine, can you get that near where you are?

Anne, Amethyst is definitely on my list!

As for Poutine, you do know I live in Montreal, right? There's a bit of controversy as to where and when exactly Poutine was born but we are THE authority! :D
I loved to eat poutine and queue de castor when I studied there (I did séjour à l'UdM while I was in college) oh, and beurre d'érable!!!
And yes, definitely get Amethyst!!!!
I'm glad you finally got this! And yes to Amethyst AND Sand Glow :-)
I like my fries without salt and without sauce. If I were to pick, I'd go for chilli sauce, actually!

I will get those 2 Lily, I promise! :)

Oooo chilli sause is so good with fries! I've had it a few times and wonder why I haven't thought of it! Hmm now I'm thinking of mixing some in my mayo! :D
I really like these eye sticks as well, that little set they released with the holiday collection was nice.
I'm in the mayonnaise clan as well :)

Oh Clare you're right! That set was nice but I passed on it because I did major makeup splurges. :)

Yay for mayo! :D
Excuse me? You're team mayo? I don't think we can be friends anymore then...

;-)

I'm an atypical Belgian, I prefer ketchup over mayo.

But anyway, that is not what this topic is about! So back to the caviar stick! I've been intrigued by the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick from the moment I first read about them. The brand is not available here though, so I haven't been able to try one myself. Maybe someday! And who knows, maybe I'll go for Khaki. It's one of those shades that you can't go wrong with.

P.S.: those swatches look very okay to me.

Wow Melissa, atypical Belgian is right! I do enjoy ketchup with my fries here and there so can we be friends again? Pretty please??? :D

I hope you get to try them at one point. All the shades are pretty good basics and Khaki would be a great one for you! :)

These are definitely on my "to try" list. Lately I've been loving the look of a one colour all over the lids blended into the crease and I bet these would be good for that (currently loving a few of the L'Oreal infallibles for that-mainly bronzed taupe and Sarah Treasure)-so fast ad easy in the morning.
and yes.......fries go better with mayo than ketchup. Such a decadent treat!!!!!
yum! xo

Oh Linda I don't think I've seen those Infaillibles! I have to go to the ds later today so I'll see if they have them. These Sticks are so convenient and perfect for the one color look. I've done it a few times making the shade a little darker on the outer corners and it's very nice and quick.

Yay team mayo! xoxo

I haven't tried this particular product, but I find that out of the stick products that I have from Revlon, Mac, L'oreal and Mally - I hardly ever use them. Not sure why .. I just never seem to reach for those items .. :-P

Glad you went for the darker colours-they are the ones I think are really good, the pale colours just cracked and creased terribly. I am quite keen on picking up Khaki. Amethyst is really lovely
